Specialty Dive Courses
The purpose of PADI Specialty dive courses is to expand your knowledge and learn more about your favourite diving activities. Some specialties are required for certain types of scuba diving and as prerequisite certifications for further training, others are simply to explore and develop those aspects of diving you are interested in.
The number of dives included in Specialty courses vary from no dives to several. If you have recently completed your Advanced Open Water course, the dives you did during the course may count towards a specialty rating - and vice versa: the first dive in any specialty may count towards your Advanced Open Water certification.
Scheduled Specialty courses appear from time to time, but the courses are mostly arranged by request. Logistics and durations vary, so please contact us for details.
Specialty Course Packages
PADI standards allow three dives a day, so in many cases it is worth packaging two or more specialties together to get the most of a couple days of diving. Some of the specialty courses make naturally logical combinations, for instance Underwater Navigation and Search & Recovery courses support each other. Earning five specialty ratings, completing PADI Rescue Diver course and logging 50 dives will qualify you to PADI Master Scuba Diver rating - the highest recreational rating in PADI system.
Specialty courses can also be packaged with core courses: if you are doing PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, you may want to consider combining Peak Performance Buoyancy or Enriched Air (Nitrox) specialties to go with it.
